STUDENTS’ HOME DESIGN

Our design articulates a student house (1) and a community house (2).
One Cloister (1) for student life, accommodating the students as well as brothers and sisters of the community directly involved in the service of the Student House
One Cloister (2) for the religious life of the community and to welcome pastoral initiatives and retreats
Each cloister is made of 3 modules allowing to phase out the project.
The two cloisters will be part of a large spiritual center also involving a church and a large hall which will support the pastoral work of the Community.
Sustainability is at the heart of our project :
→ Annual revenues will finance the maintenance costs of the house which the presence and experience of the Community will help to keep low
→ A solidarity fund will collect 20% of students fees and share this amount with those who cannot afford them
→ Rain water will be collected through a large water tank (220 m3 capacity)
→ Electricity will be provided by solar panels
→ Students will have to commit to local social work or projects: will offer their help in the refugee camps or teams of visitors to the sick ni the hospitals of Mbarara green with the teams of visitors to the sick ni the hospitals of Mbarara
